MAINE ROWING ASSOCIATION
2006
CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS
As
has been our custom, Maine Rowing
sponsored a Season's Championship Series for 2006.
For each class (men's/women's,
Open/Masters, type of boat) in which
there were three entrants with
three
regattas, we award
points on the basis of two points for
finishing plus a point for each boat you beat in that regatta. Your
best three regattas count.
Once again, the only class which
met these criteria was Men's Masters Racing
1x's.
And once again, the season
was dominated by Jack Meyer. Jack won every race he
entered (on handicap), and was overall winner three times. And again,
the
bridesmaid was Geoff Gratwick, who
finished second to Jack in the races they contested together. But in
addition this year, Geoff was tied for second by Stu Miller. Although his finishes
weren't as high as Geoff's, he selected large races, so his points
count was right up there. These are remarkable athletes, and they
richly deserve the trophies they will be given at the Maine State
Championship Regatta in Bridgton on August 4, 2007.
